Contract | Days | Full-Time | 36 hours per week | 12-hour shifts | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients across an assigned shift in an emergency department setting
- Prescribe and deliver nursing care based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care and inclusive of patient and family input
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care for patients of all ages, including neonatal through geriatric populations
- Incorporate patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care
- Provide triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting
- Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at time of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
- EPIC experience within the last 12 months and recent Cerner experience required; charting system must be documented for each work history entry
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Acute care facility experience
- MICN and CEN certifications
