Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 72 Hours Guaranteed Biweekly
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical-surgical telemetry nursing care to boarder patients awaiting inpatient bed placement within an emergency department setting
- Manage a patient assignment of approximately 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in a high-volume environment averaging 40 patients per day
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, responding appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care transitions from the ED to inpatient units
- Accurately document all patient care activities and assessments using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Must pass telemetry competency testing within 2 attempts during onboarding (Day 1 testing required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience caring for boarder patients in an emergency department setting
- Familiarity with high-census, fast-paced ED or medical-surgical telemetry environments
