Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity emergency department treating both pediatric and adult populations, including Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma patients
- Manage and monitor patients on common vasoactive and sedation drips including Nicardipine, Propofol, Fentanyl, Norepinephrine, Nitroglycerin, Versed, and Precedex
- Read and interpret cardiac monitor telemetry using SpaceLabs cardiac monitoring systems
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, APPs, CNAs, phlebotomy, and Respiratory Therapy to deliver coordinated patient care
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 in a 45-bed department averaging approximately 170 patient visits per day
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required; occasional floating to sister facility ERs may be required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Minimum 2.5 years of emergency department experience in a larger, urban hospital setting
- Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and ENPC certifications required
- Demonstrated experience managing high-acuity ESI Level I patients and complex emergency presentations
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma experience strongly preferred, particularly in a designated trauma center environment
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records system
- Experience with Stroke, STEMI, and multi-trauma patient management
