Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Circulate in the operating room during cesarean sections and other surgical deliveries
- Function as baby nurse during delivery, providing full newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections (eyes and thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and document accurately within the EPIC electronic health record system
- Float to postpartum, antepartum, and Mother/Baby units as needed, including potential float to sister facilities
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license (compact license accepted)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, with high-risk experience required
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR setting — hard stop requirement
- Demonstrated ability to perform newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
