Key Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients in the Preop and PACU settings under the direction of a licensed physician
- Utilize the nursing process to individualize patient care in collaboration with patients, family members, professional peers, and the broader healthcare team
- Float between Women and Families Campus Preop/PACU and Main Campus PACU as needed
- Direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care in accordance with standards of nursing practice and departmental policies and procedures
- Manage care across 1–4 operating rooms per day within a 9-bed Preop and 8-bed PACU unit
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1 in Preop and 2:1 in PACU
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of PACU or Preop nursing experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Active Single State or Compact RN license required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating between multiple perioperative units or campuses
- Familiarity with a high-volume surgical environment managing multiple operating rooms simultaneously
