Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
- Maintain a 1:6 patient ratio while applying a teamwork-based approach to patient care
- Utilize Pyxis for medication administration, EPIC for documentation, and SBAR for communication
- Adhere to weekend shift requirements, including approximately every other weekend
- Float to other units as needed; contract staff float first
- Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Commitment to patient safety and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to care
- Willingness to float within or near the facility per assignment requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or prior neurology nursing experience
- Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
- Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
