Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in both the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab settings
- Assist with and circulate diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including PCI, left and right heart catheterizations, stent placements, and pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction
- Support IR lab procedures including drains, tubes, biopsies, kyphoplasty, embolizations, nephrostomy, and vascular interventions
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation; manage antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications
- Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as required competencies for all floor RNs
- Participate in on-call shifts averaging 8–10 per month, inclusive of 1–2 weekends per month
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered New York State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience (IR-only experience does not meet this requirement)
- Experience in both Cath Lab and IR Lab environments is required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
- Competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, and Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring
- Familiarity with endovascular interventions, stent graft placement, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- Experience with central venous access, port placement, and dialysis graft interventions
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
