Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room / Med Surg
Location
Chamberlain, SD
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 36 hours per week | 12-hour rotating shifts | Every other weekend and holiday required | 3 on-call shifts required per 13-week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in both the Emergency Room and Med Surg unit, floating between departments as needed
- Function independently in the ER setting and manage a Med Surg patient load of up to 5 patients
- Utilize computerized charting and medication dispensing systems including EPIC and Pyxis
- Adhere to facility badge in/out policy for all shifts
- Participate in on-call shifts as scheduled within the contract period
- Follow facility dress code: navy scrubs with no logos; white underlayers or white lab coat permitted
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- At least 6 months of Emergency Room experience within the past year
- At least 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year
- BLS certification required prior to start
- ACLS certification required prior to start
- NRP required (may be completed onsite with approval)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred
- PALS certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
