Afterschool Assistant at Sid Jacobson JCC and Herricks School. Long Island, NY Position Summary The Afterschool Assistant helps create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can learn, build relationships, and thrive. This role supports daily program activities, assists children with homework and social development, and contributes to a positive and inclusive After School experience. Key Responsibilities Build positive relationships with children through play, exploration, and age-appropriate activities Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants Support children with homework and daily routines as needed Communicate professionally and respectfully with families, staff, and school personnel Assist in setting up and maintaining program spaces that support safety, engagement, and active supervision Encourage positive behavior, self-esteem, and social development Maintain active supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and team collaboration opportunities Complete all required OCFS trainings and compliance requirements Support additional program needs and responsibilities as assigned Compensation details: 18-20 Hourly Wage PI7a2ce748e49a-25448-40544955aa415a4b-8b21-40fc-a65c-70d2b25ca29a
