**Exciting Opportunity for a Night Float RN!**
**Job Description:**
- **Position:** Registered Nurse - Float I (Nights)
- **Shift:** 7 PM to 7 AM
- **Work Type:** Full Time
- **Weekend Requirement:** Yes
- **On Call Requirement:** No
- **Floating Requirement:** Yes
- **EMR Used:** Epic (Required)
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct initial assessments and establish care priorities based on patient age and needs.
- Systematically re-assess patients to identify trends and necessary interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care within established timeframes.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions by interpreting facts and evaluating outcomes.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Implement and document timely interventions tailored to patient needs.
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.
**Staff Responsibilities:**
- Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve intended outcomes.
- Delegate unit tasks appropriately to ensure comprehensive patient support.
- Coordinate team assignments and adjust based on patient and unit needs.
- Engage in the orientation of new staff and students.
- Serve as a resource for visitors, physicians, and colleagues.
- Contribute to a positive work environment with a professional attitude.
**Customer Relations:**
- Exhibit behaviors that enhance patient satisfaction and respect patient rights.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to promote teamwork.
- Maintain the hospital’s credibility and positive image through professional conduct.
**Other Responsibilities:**
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Understand and communicate Human Resources Policies clearly.
- Adapt readily to changes in the work environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude, even during stressful times.
- Take responsibility for professional growth and compliance with all policies.
**Requirements:**
- **Education:** Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- **Licenses/Certifications:**
- Current New Mexico RN license or compact state license.
- Current BLS Certification (required).
- Current ACLS Certification (required).
- Additional certifications may be necessary based on floating units.
**Skills:**
- Knowledge and skills relevant to age/type of patient served.
- Understanding of patient rights in care delivery.
- Clear and concise communication tailored to the developmental age of patients.
