Job Summary:
Akron Campus is seeking experienced PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurses for a 32-bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit specializing in Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) management. This fast-paced unit requires strong cardiac assessment skills, telemetry interpretation, and experience managing high-acuity cardiac patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU and telemetry patients.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and EKG changes.
- Administer and monitor heparin drips and other cardiac medications.
- Administer blood products safely and according to protocol.
- Perform IV insertion, maintenance, and blood draws.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR.
Requirements:
- Active RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Telemetry experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months (must be listed on resume)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills
- Experience with heparin drips and blood administration
- Must be proficient in IV starts and phlebotomy
- Float flexibility required
