Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract

Make a meaningful difference as a travel Occupational Therapist. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help residents with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve daily living skills in an assisted living setting in Newport, VT. This role supports interdisciplinary care focused on functional independence and quality of life.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Active Vermont Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment.
BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
Experience working in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred.
Documentation and electronic medical record experience preferred.

Assignment Details

Shift hours: 0800-1630.
Work days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Scheduled for 36 guaranteed hours per week.
May be expected to float to other nearby facilities as needed.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide client-centered occupational therapy services that support independence, safety, and participation in daily activities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans, perform functional assessments, and document progress. Contribute to quality initiatives and resident-centered programming within an assisted living environment.

Newport, VT offers access to outdoor recreation and a small-town lakeside lifestyle. Lake Memphremagog is within the city limits and provides boating and waterfront parks. The region is within an hour drive of Jay Peak Resort for skiing and hiking and about a 45-minute drive to the Canadian border. Downtown Newport features local dining, community events, and easy access to scenic routes for cycling and winter sports.
