Physical Therapist — Springfield, OH (Hospital)
Provide skilled therapeutic interventions for inpatient acute care and step-down patients. Evaluate, plan, and implement physical therapy services per state practice laws and facility policies. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to maximize functional outcomes and plan discharges. Perform standardized and non-standardized assessments, document progress, and modify treatment plans as indicated. Use appropriate modalities, transfer equipment, and assistive devices. Participate in clinical education, process improvement, and maintain professional competencies.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA. Current, active Physical Therapist license in the State of Ohio. Minimum 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience. Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA or ARC. Experience with inpatient populations including orthopedic postoperative joint replacement, rotator cuff repair, geriatric, mild neurological conditions, cardiac, and step-down care. Familiarity with transfer and mobility equipment such as SARA/steady devices and Hoyer lifts. Ability to manage a caseload typical for an eight-hour acute care day (approximately 10–12 patients).
Preferred Qualifications Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred. Specialty certifications preferred (e.g., OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, Women’s Health). Prior experience working in hospital or acute care settings.
Assignment Details Shift structure: Monday through Friday, eight-hour day shifts. No weekends, no on-call, no mandatory overtime. Pre-screening by ITO; manager interview and offer required. Position will not accept local candidates; travel assignment. Patient population includes orthopedic postoperative, cardiac, geriatric, mild neuro, and step-down unit patients.
