COTA - Travel Contract

We are hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a contract role in Stockton, CA at a skilled nursing facility. Under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain functional skills needed for daily living. Candidates should be prepared to work in a long-term care environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered treatment plans.

Minimum Requirements

Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college.
Active California COTA license required to start the assignment.
BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
Experience working in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
Ability to follow established treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior travel therapy or contract experience preferred.
Experience with cognitive and ADL retraining, restorative programs, and adaptive equipment.
Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records preferred.

Assignment Details

Shift Hours: 0800-1630.
Work Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (facility may schedule across these days).
Guaranteed weekly hours: 35.
Candidate should be prepared to float to other local facilities if required.

Impacting Patient Care

Join a team providing occupational therapy services in skilled nursing settings. This role supports continuity of care for residents through individualized treatment and collaboration with nursing and rehabilitation staff. Travel COTAs support facility rehabilitation goals and help maintain quality outcomes for complex, medically frail populations.

Stockton offers access to both urban amenities and nearby outdoor recreation. The city is adjacent to the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta and is about a one-hour drive to Yosemite National Park and approximately 45 minutes to the California State University, Stanislaus campus. The region supports boating and water-based activities on the Delta and provides straightforward highway access to the Bay Area for weekend travel.
