Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will implement treatment goals and programs established by a licensed Physical Therapist while promoting a strong focus on patient and employee safety. The role will require effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to all facility guidelines to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Assist the Physical Therapist in executing therapeutic interventions aimed at achieving patients' long-term goals, including posture training, strengthening exercises, and functional skills training.
Train patients in locomotion using assistive devices and demonstrate proper techniques while ensuring safety.
Utilize various modalities effectively, including whirlpools, hot/cold packs, and ultrasound, while monitoring patients’ responses.
Document patient progress and responses to treatment, including patient and family education.
Maintain a clean treatment area and ensure all equipment is safe and functioning properly.
Promote safety in the workplace by adhering to infection control protocols and equipment handling guidelines.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
CAPTE Certified.
1+ Year of Outpatient Clinical Experience.
Current CPR Certification.
Active and applicable license for the state in which you will be working.
Schedule
This position requires a 5x8.0 schedule.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
