HCA Healthcare is seeking a James Island ER Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional, patient-centered emergency care. Based within our James Island emergency department, this role combines advanced clinical practice with frontline leadership in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will provide direct patient care while helping to guide and support the nursing team, ensuring safe, efficient operations and a consistently high standard of quality.

You will be responsible for triage, assessment, and implementation of evidence-based nursing interventions for a diverse emergency patient population, including medical, surgical, cardiac, trauma, and behavioral health presentations across the lifespan. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and a multidisciplinary care team, you will help develop and execute individualized care plans, focusing on rapid stabilization, clear communication, and safe transitions of care.

In addition to your bedside responsibilities, you will coordinate daily clinical workflow in the ER, helping to manage staffing, patient assignments, and throughput to maintain timely, high-quality care. You will serve as a clinical resource and role model to other nurses, providing real-time guidance in complex or high-acuity situations, supporting critical decision-making, and reinforcing adherence to best practices, hospital policies, and regulatory standards such as EMTALA and Joint Commission requirements.

This position plays a key role in advancing HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning. You will participate in onboarding and precepting new staff, encourage ongoing professional development, and contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. By engaging in shift huddles, debriefings, and performance feedback, you will help build a collaborative, respectful environment where staff feel supported and empowered to provide excellent care.
