The James Island ER Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN at HCA Healthcare is a key clinical leader responsible for coordinating high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency room environment. Based within HCA Healthcare’s Healthcare & Medical Services department, this role combines advanced emergency nursing practice with frontline leadership to support patients, families, and clinical teams during some of their most critical moments.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN provides hands-on care to emergency patients of all ages, performing rapid assessments, triage, and stabilization for a wide range of acute and complex conditions. This nurse administers medications, initiates IV therapies, assists with diagnostic procedures, and closely monitors patients in accordance with evidence-based emergency care standards and HCA Healthcare protocols. Working in collaboration with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members, the coordinator helps develop and implement individualized care plans that prioritize safety, quality, and timely treatment.

In addition to direct patient care, the James Island ER Clinical Nurse Coordinator assumes a visible leadership role on each shift, often functioning as charge nurse. The coordinator oversees daily clinical operations, including patient flow, room assignments, and real-time resource allocation to support fluctuating emergency room volumes. This role contributes to staffing decisions, supports staff scheduling, and serves as a clinical resource for nurses and support staff, helping to resolve complex clinical issues and promoting sound clinical judgment under pressure.

The coordinator promotes accurate and timely electronic health record documentation, adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and compliance with infection prevention and safety policies.
