Opportunity:
Special Care Nursery (SCN)/PP
Job Details:
• Work night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements include 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
• Float between Special Care Nursery and Postpartum units as needed
• Maintain 1:3 nurse to patient ratio for babies or 3 mother-baby couplets for postpartum
• Must be skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience with IV start and maintenance, transfer to higher level of care required
• Must have experience with Bubble CPAP, Hi-flow, umbilical line placement assistance and maintenance
• Responsible for titrating drips including D5W and TPN
• Care for patients with phototherapy, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, withdrawal, and sepsis
• Work with CPAP, BiPap, Hi-flow, and ventilator equipment prior to transfer
• Scrubs provided by facility
• 3 nights orientation with staff
• Charting system: EPIC
• Standby requirement included
• Block scheduling utilized

This healthcare facility features a 5-bed NICU Level 2 Special Care Nursery combined with a postpartum unit in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) setting. The facility maintains 24/7 neonatologist coverage and provides comprehensive care for newborns requiring intermediate-level intensive care. The unit specializes in treating babies with various conditions including respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, and those requiring phototherapy, while also supporting postpartum mothers and their newborns.
