Job Details:
• Work in Operating Room (701) with 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Three twelve-hour shifts per week (weekends preferred)
• 13-week assignment length starting ASAP
• On-call requirement: approximately 15 call shifts per month (typically 5-6 shifts every 4 weeks)
• Weekend on-call expectations: averaging 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift per 8-week sign-up period
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Experience required in Ortho, Total Joints, Neuro, and Robotics
• Must have experience as circulator and serve as patient advocate while being resource for sterile field
• Preferred experience as scrub nurse and CNOR certification
• Typical procedures include total joints, multi-level spine fusions, variety of Xi Robotic cases (GYN, Colorectal, General)
• Very little ENT, Dental, Eyes, or plastics procedures
• Work with variety of OR beds and equipment using Epic EMR system
• Day shift averages 8 RNs, 8 scrub techs, and 5 surgical support techs
• Night shift has one charge RN and one scrub tech in house with call team backup
• Required certifications: Alaska RN license, BLS, ACLS
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Must have positive outlook and willingness to work with team members
Facility:
This major healthcare facility features a comprehensive surgical department with 11 operating rooms located on the second floor of the main hospital building. The facility specializes in advanced surgical procedures including orthopedic surgeries, complex spine procedures, and state-of-the-art robotic surgeries. The operating room maintains modern equipment and follows strict protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety standards.
