Opportunity:
RN - Med/Surg/Telemetry - Visual Monitor Unit
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks required
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs and permanent staff rotation
• Work every 3rd weekend
• 1:4 patient ratio on 14-bed Visual Monitor Unit
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience and experience with 600+ bed facilities
• Med/Surg/Telemetry experience required, psychiatric experience preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Natural hair color required, no facial piercings allowed
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Navy scrubs required with panic buttons
• EMR system: Cerner
• May float to ED psychiatric holds or Med/Surg floors
• Work with medical patients who have secondary psychiatric diagnoses including confused patients, dementia, and low cognitive ability patients
• Average length of stay: 4 days
• 2-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This large healthcare facility operates as a Level 1 trauma center with over 600 beds, providing comprehensive medical services. The Visual Monitor Unit specializes in caring for medical patients with secondary psychiatric diagnoses, featuring advanced telemetry monitoring and 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy and pharmacy. The unit utilizes video monitoring by security personnel and maintains strict safety protocols while providing compassionate care for patients with mental health components.
