Opportunity:
Neuro ICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs and core staff rotation
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in ICU setting
• Float to all ICU floors and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on tele)
• 2 years ICU experience required in large hospital (450+ beds)
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• 3-6 months travel experience required
• EVD (External Ventricular Drain) experience mandatory
• Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail exam required on day 1 of orientation
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• 2-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Natural hair color required, no facial piercings allowed
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Scrub color requirement: steel grey for neuro floors
• Work with Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors
• Care for patients with neurological diagnoses requiring critical care
• Handle cases including craniotomies, brain tumor removals, ablations, brain biopsies, and complex spine surgeries
• May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
