Job Details:
• 2 years of emergency room experience required
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 4-5 weekend shifts required per 6-week contract period
• Float required within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospital
• 40 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: NIH, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Additional required certifications: ENPC (PALS may substitute)
• Must complete compliance requirements including Advanced Math exam, Med/Pharmacology exam, EKG Onboarding exam, ED Competency exam, ED skills, and CORE exams
• Kentucky or compact state license required
• Travel experience preferred but not required (first-time travelers accepted with Level 1 ER experience)
• Care for patients of all age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Daily census of 90 patients with approximately 250 visits per day
• Work in 84-room, 100-bed emergency department
• Must have experience with ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Triage experience required
• Local travelers within 100 miles not accepted
• RTO requests longer than 1 week not approved unless special circumstances
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive emergency department with 84 rooms and 100 beds, providing care to a high-volume patient population with approximately 250 visits daily. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services. The organization maintains strict compliance requirements and provides comprehensive orientation and ongoing education programs for healthcare professionals.
