Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday for night shift)
• Rotating holidays required (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Potential for charge nurse responsibilities based on comfort level
• 20-bed unit with all private rooms providing telemetry care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 for telemetry patients and 1:3-4 for stepdown patients
• Care for patients with various diagnoses including post catheterization, medical/surgical with telemetry monitoring needs, and respiratory difficulty
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Minimum 1+ year of travel experience required
• Charge and/or precepting experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required (nurse provides own)
• Three-day orientation: first day includes education modules and shadowing, second shift orientation, third shift independent
• Floating may occur to comparable or lower level units
• Self-scheduling available for travelers
• Point of care blood sugar testing using AccuChek glucometer
• Basic cardiac monitoring with 10 hardwired rooms and portable tele monitors
• IV placement and lab draws from central lines when ordered
• Driver's license required with address outside 50 miles from facility

This acute care healthcare facility features a 20-bed telemetry unit with all private rooms and comprehensive support services. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy services, and pharmacy support with unit-based pharmacist coverage during weekdays. The organization utilizes Epic charting system and provides modern cardiac monitoring capabilities with dedicated monitor technicians. The facility emphasizes quality patient care with appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and comprehensive orientation programs for traveling nurses.
