Job Details:
• Work in Level III or IV NICU caring for neonates as young as 23-24 weeks gestation
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• 24 hours of orientation required
• Minimum 3 years NICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Must be open to floating to different campuses including Issaquah, Edmonds, Pediatrics, and PICU
• May be assigned as a "sitter" for all units which does not require patient care
• Rarely responsible for admitting babies due to dedicated admit nurse
• Attend high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
• Work with specialized equipment including CPAP/BiPap, high frequency vents, oscillators, cooling/warming blankets, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
• Administer blood and blood products, perform cardioversion/defibrillation procedures
• Block scheduling approved with ability to work 3 or more shifts in a row
• Intermittent weekend coverage required with managers working directly with travelers on schedule requests
• Complete non-billable modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours)
• Provide 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a 77-bed NICU with an average daily census of 50 patients, providing comprehensive neonatal intensive care services. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The NICU specializes in caring for critically ill neonates and provides advanced procedures and equipment, though ECMO is not available at this location.
