Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM)
Schedule: 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
Employment Type: Contract/Travel Assignment
Pay Rate: $2520 per week.
Position Overview:
Claremore Indian Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and experience managing critical and emergent patient conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assess, prioritize, and provide care for patients presenting with emergency medical conditions and trauma.
- Recognize and respond to critical situations, initiating emergency interventions when necessary.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments.
- Operate and monitor specialized emergency care equipment, including:
- Ventilators
- Cardiac monitors
- Infusion pumps
- Pulse oximeters
- Respiratory support devices
- Manage patients requiring:
- Mechanical ventilation
- CPAP/BiPAP
- Vapotherm therapy
- Critical care drips and medications
- Provide care for adult and pediatric emergency patients.
- Assist in the management of stroke patients and other acute medical emergencies.
- Document assessments, interventions, treatments, and patient responses accurately.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain unit readiness, equipment, and supplies while promoting a safe patient environment.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
- 5+ years preferred
Licensure
- Active Oklahoma RN License OR
- Active Compact/Multi-State RN License
Certifications (Required)
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- TNCC
- NIHSS - 8 Stroke CEUs Certifications required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Strong knowledge of emergency and critical care nursing.
- Experience managing ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and Vapotherm systems.
- Experience with critical drips and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a high-acuity environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Compliance Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination is required for all contractors working with Cherokee Nation. Candidates who are not vaccinated must be willing to obtain the vaccine prior to assignment.
