Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure (able to work in Florida)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in an acute CVOR/CVOR-like setting
- Familiarity with cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve surgery (MVR/AVR), pacemaker cases, and TEE; experience with minimally invasive cardiac procedures preferred
- Comfortable working with open heart instrumentation, TEE and ultrasound equipment
- Able to work scheduled shift and participate in on-call rotation (approximately every other day and every other weekend)
- Ability to provide relief across other surgical service lines (vascular, robotics, general, ortho, neuro/spine, urology, podiatry, thoracic, plastic)
- Experience with electronic documentation systems (Meditech preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgical patients before, during, and after procedures in the CVOR
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure necessary instruments, supplies, and medications are available and prepared for cases
- Assist with cardiovascular-specific procedures (CABG, valve repairs/replacements, pacemaker implants, lead extractions, endovascular support, etc.) and support minimally invasive techniques when applicable
- Monitor and document patient status, operative progress, outcomes, and specimen handling in the electronic health record
- Promote patient safety and quality control in the OR environment and collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient care
- Participate in on-call coverage as required and provide cross-coverage or lunch relief across designated service lines when needed

Job Description
This travel CVOR RN position is a 13-week assignment in Plantation, FL, providing perioperative nursing for adult cardiovascular surgical cases. The role covers a day shift (06:45–17:15) with a typical 2:1 patient ratio in two open-heart surgical suites. The CVOR nurse will prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensure availability of specialized cardiac instrumentation and TEE/ultrasound devices, assist with a range of procedures (CABG, valve surgeries, pacemaker cases, lead extractions, and some endovascular/thoracic cases), and document care in Meditech. On-call coverage is required (about every other day and every other weekend), and candidates must have ACLS, BLS, and at least two years of acute CVOR experience. The assignment includes a weekly stipend and estimated taxable hourly pay as shown.
