Requirements
- Valid RN license (state-appropriate)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- TNCC and ENPC (or PALS/ENPC as indicated) required
- CPI training preferred/required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and cover required weekends (approximately 4 weekend days required)
- Experience with emergency procedures and equipment (IV insertion, EKG, foley care, vents, moderate sedation, cardioversion, central line care)
- Comfortable using Level 3 EMR and working in a high-acuity, 26-bed emergency unit with ~4:1 patient ratios
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for patients in a 26-bed ED, including assessment, stabilization, and ongoing treatment during 12-hour night shifts
- Perform common ED procedures such as IV insertion, EKG interpretation, foley insertion/removal, lumbar puncture support, central line management, moderate sedation support, and cardioversion assistance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (charge nurse, HUC, PCTs/paramedics) to ensure safe patient flow and continuity of care
- Adhere to unit policies, staffing guidelines, and dress code (cobalt/royal blue scrubs required)
- Maintain required certifications and documentation, and participate in unit-specific expectations including weekend coverage as scheduled
