Job Details:
• Work 12.5-hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM
• Block scheduling available with shifts of 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM
• Call requirements: approximately 120 hours per contract in rotation with staff
• 30-minute call response time required
• Holiday coverage required, 4th of July preferred depending on contract
• Must have trauma and neuro experience - REQUIRED
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Work in 16-suite operating room with average of 30 cases per day
• Handle general, ENT, neuro, spine, orthopedic, and robotic surgical cases
• No scrubbing required for RNs
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Work alongside 2 OR techs per shift
• May float within Zone 1 only if extreme need (PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM)
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Unit-specific orientation required
• Must be available for in-state orientation week
• Epic EMR system used
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• 60-mile radius requirement with driver's license submission
Facility:
This Level 2 trauma center operates a comprehensive 16-suite operating room department handling approximately 30 surgical cases daily. The facility specializes in a wide range of surgical procedures including general surgery, ENT, neurosurgery, spine surgery, orthopedics, and advanced robotic surgery. The acute care setting maintains modern technology and equipment while providing structured support with dedicated OR techs and experienced charge nurses on every shift.
