Med Surg ICU RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• 2 years recent ICU experience required
• Must pass/fail exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score required to continue
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Driver's license required at submittal and must live outside 50-mile radius
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Float to all inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU
• Care for adults and pediatric patients over 15 years old
• Handle nurse to patient ratios of 1:1-2 in ICU setting
• Manage patients with respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, and renal failure
• Required to titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmic drips
• Work with advanced equipment including ventilators, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, and ICP monitoring
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and residents
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Chart using EPIC system

This Level 1 trauma center serves as the primary tertiary hospital for the healthcare system, featuring a 34-bed Medical Surgical ICU with advanced capabilities. The facility specializes in neurosurgery with a thrombectomy program, complex cardiac procedures, and critical care services. The unit maintains a fast-paced environment with high patient volume and utilizes cutting-edge technology including advanced monitoring systems and specialized equipment for complex medical interventions.
