Opportunity:
PCU and MedSurg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Self-scheduling available
• Patient ratios: 1 RN to 4 PCU patients, 1 RN to 5 medical-surgical patients, 1 RN to 5-6 patients on nights
• Care for oncology and trauma patients on mixed PCU/medical-surgical unit
• 27-bed unit caring for adult patient population
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), ONS/ONCC
• Chemo certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU and oncology experience required
• Charge nurse experience minimum 1 year required
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher score
• 2 days of orientation provided
• Float to medical-surgical and other PCU units
• Work with chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix drips
• Competencies include ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000)
• Use EPIC charting system and Alaris IV pumps
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius
• Cannot be employed with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This acute care facility features a Level 1 trauma center with a 27-bed progressive care unit specializing in oncology and trauma patients. The healthcare organization provides comprehensive care with nursing assistant support, charge nurse leadership, and additional support staff including physical therapy, occupational therapy, RN case managers, social work, educators, and dieticians. The facility emphasizes patient-centered care with hourly rounding protocols and maintains modern equipment including specialty lifts and advanced monitoring systems.
