Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Auto lunch deductions apply
• Must have 5+ years of nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Meditech charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ASLS or NIHSS, CPI
• Must work within 75-mile radius rule with driver's license address verification
• Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts
• Complete ORT during week one
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 to 4
• Perform independent lab draws and IV starts
• Manage ventilated patients in ER until admission
• Provide care for trauma, neuro, ortho, pediatric to geriatric patients
• Experience with psych/seclusion rooms preferred
• Must work effectively in fast-paced environment with approximately 180-200 visits per day
• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
Facility:
This acute care facility features a high-volume emergency department handling approximately 180-200 visits daily. The facility operates as a CVA center with capabilities for trauma and neuro patients, though some cases are transferred to higher-level facilities. The emergency department includes a 6-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psychiatry, central monitoring for telemetry, 24/7 respiratory therapy dedicated to the ER, and an in-department pharmacy available 11 hours daily with 24/7 on-campus coverage. The facility maintains robust support staff including nurse aides, paramedics, security, and safety sitters to ensure comprehensive patient care.
