Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with multiple shift options: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 10:00 AM-10:00 PM, 1:00 PM-1:00 AM, or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Nights and/or evenings available (manager will discuss during phone interview)
• Every other weekend requirement based on unit needs and demands
• Holiday requirement unless specified off in signed contract
• Rare call requirements
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Must have 2-3 years of ER experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Must be an independent thinker and self-motivated
• ER RNs manage all aspects of patient care including drawing blood, managing holds, and reading telemetry strips
• Work in 11-bed emergency department seeing approximately 37 patients per day
• Handle typical emergency department cases and trauma patients
• Direct bedding until full, then quick triage process
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• 2-3 days of 12-hour unit-specific orientation required
• Use MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Floating requirements only if desired and usually not required for ER
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a Level 4 trauma center with an 11-bed emergency department that provides comprehensive emergency medical services. The facility maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy support, in-house security, and imaging services located adjacent to the emergency department. The emergency department features a separate psych/seclusion room and operates with one physician providing 12-hour shift coverage, supported by experienced nursing staff who manage all aspects of patient care.
Location:
This position is located in Pennsylvania, strategically positioned next to a major interstate near the famous "Cabbage Hill." The area offers convenient access to major transportation routes while providing opportunities to work in a challenging trauma environment that serves both local community members and travelers along busy interstate corridors.
