Opportunity:
MedSurg General Medical | RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 private bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-6 on night shift
• Required certification: BLS
• Care for patients with GI issues, pneumonia, cellulitis, renal conditions, CHF, diabetes, ETOH withdrawal, electrolyte imbalances, and infectious patients
• Must demonstrate excellence, respect, honesty, service, and teamwork values
• Experience preferred with deescalation techniques, chest tubes, heparin drips, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
• Occasional titration of heparin and cardizem drips required
• Remote telemetry monitoring with Phillips monitors - basic strip interpretation knowledge required
• Float requirements within skill set to other med surg units, ICU as resource, ER for holds, or as sitter
• Professional colored scrubs required - no tattoos above shoulders, only nose stud facial piercing allowed
• 2-shift orientation (24 hours total with 12 hours non-billable)
• High emphasis on bedside report and hourly rounding
• EPIC charting system
• BSN not required
• May be placed on standby for low census
• Weekend and holiday requirements based on department needs
• 50-mile radius restriction for local candidates

This Level 2 trauma center provides acute care services with a focus on medical-surgical patient populations. The facility maintains high standards for patient care with 24/7 charge nurse coverage, break/resource nurses, house supervisors, and critical care outreach RN support. The organization emphasizes teamwork, quality patient care, and maintains modern equipment including high flow oxygen and respiratory therapy support.
