Opportunity:
Department: ER | RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Flexibility to work rotating start times (7-7, 10-10, 11-11p, 12-midnight, 7p-7a)
• 3+ years of ER experience required
• First time travelers accepted
• Illinois license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS
• Nurse to patient ratio 1:4-5 (adjusted based on staffing and acuity)
• 2 twelve-hour shifts of orientation provided
• Solid colored professional scrubs required
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• No call or standby requirements
• Potential floating to MS, Tele, or ICU as helping hands
• Moderate sedation experience required
• Provide emergency care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics
• Handle common diagnoses including respiratory viruses, trauma, MI, MVA cases
• Work with all critical care drips
• Perform blood draws, assist with wound care, lumbar punctures
• Read and interpret cardiac monitors
• Holiday rotation with core staff required
Facility:
This community hospital features a 24-bed emergency department that provides comprehensive emergency care to the local community. The facility is STEMI/Stroke ready with catheterization lab services available depending on day and hours. The emergency department treats 60-80 patients per 24-hour period and includes 4 behavioral health safe rooms. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house security, house supervisor coverage, and respiratory therapy services with imaging connected directly to the ER through double doors.
