Opportunity:
High Risk Labor & Delivery RN
Job Details:
• 3-5 years of experience required in high acuity and high pace environment
• Highly prefer RNs with 5 years of high risk experience but will consider candidates with 3+ years of high risk experience
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to Post partum/Antepartum and may float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby
• Must function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to post partum
• Must be able to circulate in operating room
• Required to provide newborn care including eye care, vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Work with medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Handle high risk/high volume labor and delivery cases of all types
• Work in unit with 4 operating rooms, 31 rooms, 31 beds
• Average daily census of 15 patients per day with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Must be proficient with EPIC electronic health record system and electronic fetal monitoring
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Must pass clinical review and provide current supervisory references
• 0 hours non-billable orientation (reduced from standard 40 hours)
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a high-volume labor and delivery unit that follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing. The facility provides comprehensive maternal and newborn care services including midwifery clients, private OB services, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics. The unit maintains modern equipment and technology to support high-risk deliveries and emergency situations, with multiple operating rooms available for cesarean sections and other surgical interventions.
