Telemetry- WC-Cardiac/Medical 3rd Floor
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• Holiday requirement for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving (work 2 days and an eve or 2 eves and a day)
• Night shifts available with first priority for floating
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on 49-bed telemetry unit
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts with 80% score prior to contract signing
• One shift of unit orientation provided
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• Floating may be required to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
• No call or standby requirements
• Care for patients with CHF, respiratory issues, GI conditions, diabetics, post-catheterization, and total joint replacement
• Must have experience reading basic telemetry strips and interpreting strips with required sign-off at least once per shift
• Experience with CVA and TIA preferred
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Cerner experience recommended
• Work with respiratory equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments
• Handle set rate drips including Diltiazem/Cardizem (no drip titration required)
• Self-scheduling used with manager balancing for 4-week schedules
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract (3 shifts if contract under 13 weeks)

This acute care facility features a comprehensive telemetry unit specializing in cardiac and medical care. The 49-bed unit provides advanced monitoring capabilities for patients requiring continuous cardiac surveillance. The facility utilizes modern technology including Cerner charting systems and maintains specialized equipment for respiratory care. The organization emphasizes quality patient care with structured orientation programs and maintains dedicated support staff including nurse aides and respiratory therapists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
