Opportunity:
RN - Medical Surgical
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Weekend requirement every other weekend
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:5-7 on days, 1:6-8 on nights
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First time travelers accepted
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• May be floated to other Medical Surgical, MS-Telemetry, or Intermediate Care units
• 50 mile radius rule applies - must provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• Required certifications: BLS, RN License
• Can take PCT class to become PCT or have CNA certification
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• Two days of orientation: 1 day educator/computer system, 1 day with preceptor
• Charting system: EPIC
• No call or standby requirements
• Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness
• Work with respiratory therapists who manage breathing treatments and respiratory equipment
• Monitor technicians read telemetry strips - RNs not required to interpret
Facility:
This 48-bed acute care medical surgical unit provides comprehensive inpatient services for adult patients with various medical conditions. The facility utilizes modern technology including EPIC charting systems and maintains appropriate staffing ratios with charge nurses and patient care technicians. The unit offers a supportive environment with respiratory therapy services, monitor technicians, and structured orientation programs for new staff members.
