Opportunity:
Telemetry- WC-Cardiac/Medical 3rd Floor
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement - 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Night shift position with first priority for floating assignments
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with 49-bed telemetry unit
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% score within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• BSN degree not required
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Self-scheduling system used with manager approval for 4-week schedules
• Holiday requirement: work 2 days and 1 eve or 2 eves and 1 day for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving
• Floating required to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
• No call or standby requirements
• Cerner charting system experience recommended
• Must interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift
• Experience required with reading basic tele strips, CVA/TIA patients, and total joint replacement
• Common patient diagnoses include CHF, respiratory conditions, GI issues, diabetics, post-catheterization, and total joint replacements
• Work with equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments
• Handle set-rate Diltiazem/Cardizem drips (no titration required)
• Support from nurse aides (1:10-15 ratio) and telemetry/monitor techs available
