Opportunity:
Free-standing ED - RN
Job Details:
• Work in a 24-bed free-standing emergency department with 15% pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4 during day shifts
• Provide care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• RN assumes respiratory therapy and pharmacy roles as no RT or pharmacy on site
• Perform procedure sedation and rapid sequence intubation drug administration
• Manage drains, Port-A-Cath/vascular device access and care
• Operate syringe pumps and triple lumen catheters
• Chart using Epic electronic health record system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
• 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Required skills include trach care, cardioversion/defibrillation, breathing treatments, feeding tube management, PICC line care, and rapid infuser operation
• Complete pre-start modules averaging 16 hours (non-billable)
• Provide 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive free-standing emergency department designed to provide immediate emergency care without the full hospital infrastructure. The facility maintains 24 beds and serves a diverse patient population including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The emergency department requires nursing staff to take on expanded roles including respiratory therapy and pharmacy functions, providing a unique opportunity for professional growth and skill development in emergency medicine.
