Opportunity:
PCU and MedSurg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with self-scheduling available
• Patient ratios: 1 RN to 4 patients for PCU level care, 1 RN to 5-6 patients for med/surg level care
• Care for oncology and trauma PCU patients on a 28-bed mixed unit
• Float to med/surg and PCU units of same level of care
• Two days of orientation provided
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), ONS/ONCC (chemotherapy certification required)
• Minimum 1 year of PCU and oncology experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred with minimum 1 year experience
• Work with common drips including chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix
• Experience with ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring equipment preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Use EPIC charting system and Alaris IV pumps
• Must be located 50+ miles from facility and cannot work for CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This Level 1 trauma center provides comprehensive acute care services with a focus on oncology and trauma patients. The facility features a 28-bed mixed PCU and medical-surgical unit that serves adult patients with diverse cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds. The facility is equipped with modern technology including EPIC electronic medical records, Alaris IV pumps, and specialized equipment for hemodynamic monitoring and patient mobility assistance.
