Stepdown/ Med Surg Overflow/ CV Exp/ Registered Nurse
Job Details:
• Work day shifts with 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules (schedule may change during interview)
• Patient ratios of 1:4/5 for days, nights, and weekends in team nursing environment
• Unit has 48 beds with daily census of 32 patients
• On-call and weekend coverage required as needed
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required (3+ years preferred)
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Skills required: Telemetry, IV Start
• Active RN license in state or compact RN license complying with NLC guidelines required
• EPIC experience preferred
• ADN acceptable (BSN not required for this position)
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Float to like units and campuses within 20-mile radius as needed
• Holiday work requirements: must work 2 of 3 holidays if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall during assignment
Facility:
This facility operates as a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center featuring a cardiac stepdown unit with 48 private beds designed for bedside and telemetry monitoring. The multidisciplinary care unit provides close observation for patients with cardiac, pulmonary, and other disease processes requiring more intensive monitoring than standard medical/surgical units but less than ICU level care. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
