**Exciting Opportunity for Long Term Care (RN) Travelers!**
**Job Description:**
- **Position:** Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN)
- **Specialty:** LTC (Long Term Care)
- **Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) or Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
- **Duration:** Traveler's Choice for 26 or 13 week assignment
- **Patient Ratios:**
- Days: 1:20
- Nights: 1:20
- Weekends: 1:20
- **Years of Experience Required:** 1 year
- **Float Required:** Yes
- **Patient Age Groups:** Adults, Geriatrics
- **Daily Census:** 40
- **Number of Rooms:** 10
- **Number of Beds:** 10
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics in a long-term care setting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support, including Social Services.
- Care for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including:
- Dementia
- Alzheimer’s
- TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)
- Cognitive and Physical Impairments
**Special Procedures & Skills Required:**
- Accuchecks
- Implanted Glucose Sensors
- Peg Tube (G-tube) feedings
- Duopa Pumps
- IV hydration prn
- Phlebotomy lab draws
- Peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous only)
- Respiratory treatments (nebulizers)
- Wound Care
**Certifications & Skills:**
- **Required:** BLS
- **Preferred Certifications:** *LTAC Experience*
- **Required Skills:**
- Respiratory
- Oxygen administration
- IV Therapy/Medication
- Peripheral line care
- Isolation Precautions/PPE
**Additional Information:**
- All caregivers must obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation (one-time $10 fee).
- RTO Restrictions: No more than 2 weeks of RTO for a 26-week contract. Must work at least 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).
- Locals are not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 weeks; the traveler may be called off for one, 12-hour shift every two weeks.
**Transportation:**
- A vehicle will be provided for traveler use during the assignment.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required before operating the vehicle.
- Policy must cover rental car insurance; vehicle use is limited to around town.
