**Job Description:**
- Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of patients?
- As a Progressive Care Nurse, you'll provide exceptional care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a dynamic medical/surgical unit.
- Experience a diverse patient population, including but not limited to:
- Pediatrics
- Pre and post PCI care
- Pacemaker procedures
- Revascularization
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Thoracotomy
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Renal failure
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
- Sepsis
- A broad spectrum of surgical services
- Deliver comprehensive care that focuses on physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support for patients.
- Anticipate and respond to the needs of patients who require skilled assessment and intervention tools for potential deteriorating conditions.
- Operate advanced medical equipment and provide care for patients with:
- Central lines
- Chest tubes
- Nasogastric tubes
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Arterial lines
- Multiple IVs
- Short-term ventilation support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care delivery and achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Engage effectively with patients and their families while upholding the highest standards of professional nursing.
- Function with minimal supervision to assess and implement established policies and procedures.
- Act as a clinical leader and mentor, assisting in the precepting of new staff.
- Provide direct care for patients throughout their hospital journey from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.
- Offer guidance to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping Staff, and Dietary Staff as needed.
**Qualifications:**
- Current State of Montana RN Licensure required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
- EPNC, TNCC certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a nursing role
- Strong knowledge of advanced nursing principles and procedures
- Proficient in medication management, including common IV medications like:
- Heparin
- Diltiazem
- Dobutamine
- Milrinone
- Amiodarone
- Dopamine
- Experience with pediatric care and post-heart catheterization preferred
- Comfortable with basic office equipment and multiple IV pumps, as well as operating advanced medical equipment, cardiac telemetry, and EKG interpretation.
