**Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse in Surgical Day Care!**
Are you ready to take your nursing career to the next level? We are looking for a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Day Care team! In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on patients' lives while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess and reassess patient care needs, planning and implementing effective nursing interventions to achieve patient goals.
- Provide high-quality care based on established standards, protocols, and policies, while respecting the dignity of each patient.
- Teach patients and families based on their unique learning needs, ensuring understanding and readiness for discharge.
- Collaboratively prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary resources and support systems.
- Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by team members while prioritizing patient care needs.
- Document all relevant data accurately and promptly, ensuring continuity of care through effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Promote professional development by mentoring colleagues and participating in ongoing learning opportunities.
- Identify and proactively address risks to patient safety, implementing strategies to minimize medical errors.
- Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy per physician's orders and established guidelines.
- Conduct thorough pre-admission testing and assessments for Surgical Day Care patients, including blood draws and EKGs.
- Review and verify the completeness of preoperative documentation, ensuring all requirements are met before surgery.
- Provide emotional support to patients navigating changes due to surgery, fostering a compassionate healing environment.
- Initiate and document follow-up communications with post-operative patients to ensure their ongoing care.
**Job Requirements:**
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience (prior SDC, PAT, Endoscopy, or OR experience preferred).
- Current MA RN License is required.
- ACLS and PALS certifications required; IV certification preferred.
- Proficiency in peripheral IV insertion and nursing assessment is essential.
**Shift Information:**
- 24-Hours, Day/Evening, (3) 8-hour shifts, with on-call rotation for weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
