Job Description:
The role involves providing specialized nursing care for neonates in the NICU, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The NICU is part of a pediatric hospital with a high-risk labor and delivery unit.
Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory support for vents, trachs, g-tubes, NG/OG, NCPAP
- Manage UAC/UVC and PICC lines
- Administer medications and develop care plans
- Discharge planning for transition to home
- Care for patients with conditions such as prematurity, RDS, and NAS
- Potentially float to ER to act as a sitter, though rare
Requirements:
- Minimum experience: 2 years of Level III-IV NICU
- Required license/certifications: BLS, NRP, WA state license
- Skills required: proficiency in managing ventilators, trachs, and other specialized equipment
- Preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE
