Job Description:
The ER Registered Nurse provides care to patients in the emergency room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and exceptional service. The nurse will be assigned a primary off-campus emergency department (OCED) but may be required to float to other OCED sites as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care to a wide range of patients including neonates to geriatrics, handling conditions such as cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, and psychological issues.
- Manage ventilator and BiPAP for intubated patients, as RNs handle respiratory care in the absence of respiratory therapists.
- Supervise and provide guidance to support staff, including LPNs.
- Mix medications and perform IV skills.
- Maintain accurate patient records through the EPIC charting system.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of true ER experience.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, TNCC certifications.
- Ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience with EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis systems is preferred.
