Job Description:
Working with psychiatric patients ranging from children and adolescents to adults, the Registered Nurse will provide care by assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications (injectable and PO), evaluate care plans, and complete documentation.
- Conduct admission screens, assessments, and minor wound care.
- Perform patient safety rounds every 15 minutes and participate in patient discharge planning.
- Engage in verbal de-escalation and participate in physical restraints if necessary.
- Communicate effectively with both team members and patients, adhering to a team nursing approach.
Requirements:
- Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- BLS and CPI certifications (preferred to have prior to start but can obtain during the assignment).
- At least one year of experience required; travelers must reside 100 miles away from any related healthcare facility.
