Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will provide care for patients with mixed acuity levels, including intermediate care, telemetry, and medical-surgical. The role involves managing patients post-cardiac procedures and handling various cardiac conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
- Monitor cardiac and vascular status of patients and administer medication as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to create an optimal care environment.
- Float to other units as needed, such as General PCU, MS/Tele, or ICU, within scope of practice.
Requirements:
- 1.5 years of general nursing experience required.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Experience with cardiac procedural recovery and MI pharmacology preferred.
