Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care for young adults through geriatric patients with complex medical issues, including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, and DKA. The RN will be involved in titrating drips and may float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Stepdown unit.
- Titrate various drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and others.
- Read and interpret telemetry strips.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies, including the fingernail policy and dress code.
Requirements:
- Active RN license with experience in a critical care setting.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Driver's license required for radius rule compliance (50 miles).
- Successful completion of open book exam with a passing score of 90% during orientation.
- Navy blue scrubs as part of the dress code.
