Job Description:
Provide care for patients who require intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients. This unit heavily supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart. Common patient conditions include Cath Lab, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR, and other cardiac and vascular-related diagnoses.
Responsibilities:
- Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Nitro, Nicardipine, Epi, Cardizem, and other medications for blood pressure management
- Read and interpret telemetry strips
- Provide patient care under the direction of charge nurses and nursing management
- Collaborate with an in-house hospitalist and intensivist; cardiology on call after hours
Requirements:
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year experience with this patient population
- Valid driver's license to verify address for the 50-mile radius rule
- RN must pass a skills exam with 90% score during orientation
